Dennis Quaid is opening up about his five-year marriage to Laura Savoie, calling it the “closest relationship” of his life.

“Every day is paradise with her,” said Quaid, 71, about his 32-year-old wife. “It’s a joy I’ve never experienced before.”

The couple met in 2019 and eloped in a private seaside ceremony in Santa Barbara in June 2020. Originally planning a wedding in Hawaii, their plans shifted due to the pandemic.

Beyond love, they’re also business partners. In 2021, Quaid appointed Savoie as a founding partner of his production company, Bonniedale Films.

Despite the nearly four-decade age gap, Quaid says their connection is deeper than any past relationship. “I don’t know why God waited so long to bring her into my life, but I’m grateful every day.”

Savoie is Quaid’s fourth wife. He shares three children from previous marriages, including actor Jack Quaid.
