Luna’s Journey of Recovery: From Cruelty to Comfort in Her Foster Home

One month ago, Luna arrived at our rescue center after surviving something unimaginable—she was seen being dragged behind a moving car along a busy road in San Diego, California. Her body was broken, but her spirit? Unbelievably strong.

Since her first day at the shelter, Luna has shown nothing but resilience, forgiveness, and love toward the humans helping her heal. Now stable and gaining more mobility every day, Luna is spending time in a loving foster home with one of our experienced caregivers.

Her foster mom shares that Luna’s wounds are healing beautifully. Fresh scabs are forming, and her skin is recovering well under daily wraps and soothing ointments. While her paw pads remain delicate, Luna is now able to enjoy short walks—always carefully supervised, especially in the summer heat.

Most importantly, Luna is finally receiving what she’s always deserved: comfort, affection, and a home filled with safety. She thrives in this quiet space, where she can cuddle, rest, and feel the love of someone who truly cares.

Next week, Luna will return to our Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center for a medical check-up, and we’ll continue to share updates on her recovery.

If Luna’s journey touches your heart, please consider making a donation in her honor. Your support helps provide urgent medical care and hope for abused dogs like Luna. Every dollar makes a difference—and gives survivors like her a second chance.
