His newborn granddaughter, Charlotte Lane Denning, heard her very first song the moment she entered the world: Montgomery’s 1994 hit ballad, “Rope the Moon.”

That meaningful choice came from her father, country artist Travis Denning, who explained in a touching video that the song has long been dedicated to Charlotte’s mother, Madison Montgomery, during John’s live performances. “I had a lot of options,” Travis shared, “but then I remembered I know a guy who dedicates this song to her mama every night he’s on stage.
