A Heartbreaking Start for Niya
Niya, a five-year-old dog, was abandoned and left to suffer in silence. When she arrived at the Gibson County Animal Shelter in Trenton, Tennessee, she was nothing more than a shadow of the dog she once was. When Kimberley Slown of Arrow Dog Rescue arrived at the shelter to bring Niya home, the dog was too frightened to move. She was curled up in the corner, unable to trust anyone. It was clear that Niya had been deeply hurt — and not just physically, but emotionally as well.

Niya’s first night in her new home was filled with fear and exhaustion. She spent the entire night and the next day curled up, barely moving.
