At a remarkably young age, Jarah Scarsi has been honored as the 2024 Volunteer of the Year by Volunteering North Queensland (NQ) – a clear testament that kindness knows no age.

Jarah has contributed to not just one, but multiple community projects, ranging from supporting the homeless to working with children and the elderly living alone. For her, volunteering isn’t about recognition – it’s a way of life, where she feels deeply connected to the community around her.
In her award acceptance speech, Jarah shared: “Every time I help someone, I don’t just bring a smile to their face – I also feel like my life gains meaning.”

Notably, she has also initiated several creative campaigns such as “Zero-Waste Day,” “Community Book Shelves,” and life skills workshops for teenagers. Her spirit of leadership and generosity makes her not only an active volunteer but also an inspiration to many young people.
This award not only celebrates Jarah’s contributions but also serves as a reminder of the power of quiet dedication in society. Whether it’s a small gesture like helping a neighbor or taking part in a large-scale initiative, every act of giving holds the power to change the world in its own way.
