Miranda Lambert Launches Benefit Concert for Texas Flood Victims

Country music star Miranda Lambert is stepping up to support her home state of Texas following devastating floods that struck over the Fourth of July weekend. With 132 lives lost—including 27 children and counselors at Camp Mystic—the tragedy has left communities heartbroken and searching for hope.

Lambert, a Longview native, didn’t wait for the headlines to fade. She called into SiriusXM to confirm plans for a benefit concert aimed at raising funds and awareness for flood relief. “I feel helpless like everybody else,” she said, “but I know more than anything that Texans help Texans.”

The event, titled Band Together Texas, will take place on August 17 at the Moody Center in Austin. Proceeds will benefit The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and the Central Texas Community Foundation.

The concert will also honor stories of heroism that emerged during the disaster. Coast Guard swimmer Scott Ruskan rescued 165 people, Matthew Crowder helped a family evacuate just in time, and Jeff Ramsey gave his life warning loved ones of the incoming floodwaters.

Lambert’s initiative promises more than music—it’s a night of healing, unity, and resilience. Texans are showing up for each other, and Lambert is leading the charge.
