One Dog’s Fight to Feel Her Dad’s Embrace Again

“She couldn’t get back in his arms fast enough” 🥹

Just a few weeks ago, dog rescuer Suzette Hall received a frantic message from a Good Samaritan in Los Angeles. A small black-and-white pup had been spotted on the roadside, injured and unable to move after being struck by a car.

Without hesitation, Hall — founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 — rushed to the scene. What she found broke her heart: the little dog was trembling in shock, desperately trying but failing to stand.

“She is definitely in shock,” Hall later shared on Facebook. “Rescue is hard. It’s sad and scary, but I have to be their voice.”

Carefully lifting the fragile pup into her arms, Hall drove straight to a veterinary clinic. On the way, she named the sweet girl Inky, already feeling her bond with this little fighter.

Word about the rescue spread quickly, and within 24 hours, Inky’s real story came to light. Her true name was Tulum, and she had a dad who had been searching desperately for her. The moment he arrived at the clinic, emotions overflowed.

“He broke down as soon as he saw her,” Hall recalled. “She is all he has in this world … she is his life. My heart shattered seeing his.”

But alongside their joy came worry. Tulum was paralyzed from the neck down and needed urgent MRI scans and surgery. Her dad longed to save her but couldn’t afford the overwhelming cost. That’s when Hall stepped in once again, launching a fundraiser that quickly gathered the support needed for Tulum’s care.

On November 6, 2024, Tulum bravely underwent surgery. The procedure was a success, and with intensive physical therapy and laser treatment, signs of hope began to shine through.

“Sweet baby girl is responding so well,” Hall wrote. “She even has feeling in her back legs. I am truly believing in a Christmas miracle.”

For weeks, Tulum stayed at the clinic, fighting her way back with determination. And finally, the day came when she was strong enough to go home. The moment her dad walked through the doors, the little dog nearly exploded with joy — whining, wiggling, and rushing into his arms as if to say she never wanted to let go again.

“She couldn’t get back in his arms fast enough,” Hall shared. “Tulum and her daddy are back together, exactly where they belong.” ❤️
