Scratching At The Door In The Snow

The snowstorm outside was relentless, blanketing everything in white silence. Inside her warm home, a woman was startled by a quiet, repetitive sound. Scratch… scratch… scratch.

She hesitated. Was it the wind? A branch?

Curious, she opened the door—and gasped.

There, curled up tightly, was a shivering senior tabby cat, half-buried in snow. His fur was soaked, his body barely holding together. He didn’t meow. He only looked up with eyes full of desperate hope.

Without hesitation, she scooped him up, wrapped him in towels, and brought him inside. She gave him food and warmth—but also knew he needed real care.

The next morning, she contacted One Cat At A Time, a rescue group specializing in felines. Within hours, the cat was in their care and was given a name: Aslan.

Vets discovered the damage the streets had done. Aslan had respiratory issues, was underweight, flea-infested, and scarred. But what struck everyone was his gentle, patient nature.

Aslan purred through his treatments, clung to kindness, and never once resisted help.

Moved by his resilience, a volunteer at the rescue decided to adopt him. In her home, he met Cleo, her resident cat. They became inseparable.

From icy streets to warm cuddles, Aslan had come full circle — not just rescued, but truly loved. It all started with one brave scratch at the door.
