The Dog Who Found His Favorite Store — And A Family Inside

Every dog has a favorite walk. For Apollo, a gentle giant Great Pyrenees in Florida, that walk doesn’t end at the park or a neighbor’s lawn. It ends at the bright sliding doors of a CVS Pharmacy.

It all began almost by accident. One evening, Apollo’s mom stopped at the store to grab medicine. The errand was routine, but for Apollo, it became unforgettable. A cashier leaned over the counter, tore open a bag, and slipped him a crunchy biscuit. His tail wagged so hard the whole line laughed.

From that single moment, Apollo decided: CVS wasn’t just a store. It was his store.

The next day, he pulled insistently on his leash until he reached the same doors. Then the next. And the next. Each day, he marched straight to the counter, patient but determined, his giant paws thudding against the floor. If there was a line, he’d wait calmly, eyes locked on the counter like a loyal customer.

“Everyone else can wait for prescriptions,” his mom joked. “Apollo’s here for snacks.”

Soon, Apollo wasn’t just known — he was adored. The employees, once surprised, became his second family. They took turns handing him treats, greeting him with hugs, and laughing at his persistence.

“That one treat turned into a ritual for an entire team,” his mom said.

Now, Apollo doesn’t need directions. He knows the path by heart. Every walk ends the same way: a tail wag, a patient wait, a happy greeting, and a crunchy reward. And though he always leaves reluctantly, escorted by a red-shirted friend, he never forgets — tomorrow, the doors will open again, and so will the hearts of everyone inside.

Because sometimes, love doesn’t come where you expect it. For Apollo, it came in the form of a treat bag, a cashier’s kindness, and a pharmacy that became home.
